Lviv proposes to dedicate 2027 to Shukhevych and the UPA

The Lviv culture committee has proposed dedicating the year 2027 to Roman Shukhevych, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and Oleh Olzhych. The Lviv city council stressed that Ukraine has the sovereign right to shape its own historical memory and asked other countries, politicians and institutions to respect that. The move comes amid ongoing tensions over the EU Parliament's resolution on the UPA.
