Microsoft Releases Flint, a Visualization Language Built for AI Agents
Microsoft has open-sourced Flint, an intermediate visualization language designed to close the gap between AI agents and high-quality data charts. Existing languages such as Vega-Lite are too low-level for AI models, forcing them to make explicit visual decisions that a good compiler should handle automatically. Flint uses a semantic-type-based specification and a layout optimisation layer to let agents produce better charts more reliably.
