Filing your pension claim on the last day of the month can boost payments by hundreds of zloty

The date on which a pension application is filed in Poland can affect the monthly benefit by as much as several hundred zloty. Filing on the last working day of the month is optimal, as ZUS calculates the pension from the first day of the following month and each additional month of work increases the accumulated capital. Submitting early in the month can result in a noticeably lower benefit.
