Shoebox-sized satellite detector could identify hidden nuclear warheads in orbit

Scientists have proposed a shoebox-sized satellite detector capable of identifying the telltale radiation signature of a hidden nuclear warhead in orbit. The technology could be used to verify arms-control treaties and monitor nuclear proliferation from space. The project is still at an early conceptual stage.
