Kia discontinues K9 luxury sedan after sales crash 87% to 1,581 units

Kia is discontinuing its flagship K9 luxury sedan, known in the US as the K900, after sales collapsed from 11,843 units in 2018 to just 1,581 in 2025 — a drop of 87%. The rear-wheel-drive executive sedan was withdrawn from the US market in 2021 and continued only in South Korea, where Kia is now closing the chapter entirely, ceding the segment to sister brand Genesis. The K8 will now become the largest sedan remaining in Kia's lineup.
