Hubble captures Messier 3, one of the Milky Way's most massive star clusters
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured a detailed image of Messier 3 (M3), one of the most massive globular clusters in the Milky Way galaxy. The cluster is thought to have possibly formed from a merger between two globular clusters in the early universe. Around 150 known globular clusters orbit the outer regions of the Milky Way, composed of ancient stars born from the same gas cloud.
