Apple tests DRAM chips from sanctioned Chinese memory maker CXMT
Apple is actively testing DRAM memory chips from Chinese supplier CXMT — which is on a US ban list — for use in devices sold in China, the Financial Times reports. The company had previously lobbied the US government for approval to source from CXMT. Using CXMT components would reduce Apple's dependence on Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron for memory.
