Bayeux Tapestry to travel secretly to London for first-ever UK exhibition from Sept 10
The 11th-century Bayeux Tapestry will arrive in London within days via a discreet overnight operation under police escort, according to the UK envoy overseeing the transfer. The 68-metre work, depicting the 1066 Norman conquest of England, will go on display at the British Museum from 10 September in its first-ever exhibition outside France.
