Poland's health reform: salary caps, mandatory hospital shifts and e-waiting lists

Poland's Ministry of Health announced three key reforms on Wednesday: caps on individual doctors' salaries and hospital budgets, a requirement for doctors to be employed on at least a half-time basis at one hospital, and the introduction of an electronic waiting-list system. The changes are designed to reduce the practice of doctors holding multiple jobs simultaneously and improve patient access to specialists. The proposals have sparked debate within the medical community.
