New BBC boss: broadcaster will be a "disinfectant" against disinformation on YouTube and X

BBC director general Matt Brittin has announced the broadcaster will double down on YouTube and X/Twitter to fight the wave of disinformation online. Despite spending most of his career at Google, Brittin acknowledged that YouTube is a breeding ground for deliberately deceptive content.
