Meta's Muse Image uses public Instagram photos to generate images without consent

Meta Superintelligence Labs has launched Muse Image, its first image generation model, which acts as an agent using tools like code execution and web search. A controversial @-mention feature allows users to generate images of other people using their public Instagram photos without those people's consent. The opt-out approach is likely to clash with GDPR and the EU AI Act.
