EU plans to extend ETS rules and include waste incinerators

The European Commission is preparing a reform of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), according to Reuters. Brussels reportedly wants to extend the current rules for industry and gradually include municipal waste incinerators in the scheme. Analysts are also examining the possible inclusion of international carbon credits in the ETS.
