NRL chief: Doctors work 500 hours a month — two average salaries would suffice
Dr Łukasz Jankowski, head of Poland's Supreme Medical Council (NRL), said it is a pathology that some doctors work over 400–500 hours a month, posing a risk to patient safety. He argued that young doctors would be satisfied with salaries equivalent to twice the national average wage, removing the need to take on excessive on-call shifts. He called for mandatory recording of doctors' working hours.
