Hungary's Magyar suspends state propaganda broadcasts two months into office
On July 6 at 4 p.m., Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar suspended news broadcasts on state media, which had long served as propaganda mouthpieces. He fulfilled the pledge in under two months since taking office. During his two-year election campaign, Magyar repeatedly stated that public broadcasters "lied day and night."
