OpenAI to release GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna publicly on 9 July

OpenAI has received regulatory approval to roll out GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra and Luna to the general public on Thursday, 9 July 2026. All three model variants will become widely available simultaneously. The simultaneous launch of three versions marks one of the company's largest single model releases to date.
