Marciniak skips first quarter-finals — six matches left to referee at World Cup

Polish referee Szymon Marciniak was not assigned to either of the first two World Cup quarter-finals. He has so far officiated only two group-stage matches at the tournament. To make a third appearance, he must be selected for one of the six remaining matches of the competition.
