Kotula: Vetoing "closest person" bill would pave the way for same-sex marriage
Equality Minister Katarzyna Kotula warned in an interview with "Gazeta Wyborcza" that if the president vetoes the "closest person" status bill, he would effectively be endorsing same-sex marriage, as there would be no middle-ground solution. She suggested the president would have signed the bill if the decision were his alone. The proposed law aims to legally recognise informal partnerships, including same-sex couples.
