EU rejects plea to pause EES biometric border system at airports ahead of summer rush

EU leaders rejected the aviation industry's request to pause the Entry/Exit System (EES) biometric checkpoints at airports ahead of the summer travel peak. The system has already caused long queues and missed flights at European airports. Summer travellers are advised to allow extra time for border checks.
