UK asylum seeker: 'one in, one out' scheme is unfair on those deported
A man brought to the UK legally under the Home Office's "one in, one out" scheme said he feels it is unjust that his entry came at the cost of another person being forcibly returned to France. Under the controversial programme, one asylum seeker who crossed the Channel on a small boat is deported in exchange for another being admitted legally. The man argued that those deported may have had equally valid asylum claims.
