Hungary: Magyar suspends state news channel M1, Orbán calls it tyranny
Hungary's public news channel M1 suspended operations on 7 July 2025. Prime Minister Péter Magyar declared that the move "finally ends propaganda in Hungarian public media." Former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sharply criticised the decision, calling it an act of tyranny by the Tisza government.
