Polish statistics office sends officials door-to-door to collect shopping receipts

Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) has launched an operation in which officials visit households across the country and ask residents to show their shopping receipts. The data will be used to calculate price indices and the cost of living. Participation is voluntary, though GUS is encouraging citizens to cooperate with the surveyors.
