Prof. Szarfenberg: Child Benefits Not Indexed Since 2016 — Poorest Families Gain Little Over Richest
Prof. Ryszard Szarfenberg of the University of Warsaw says none of Poland's main child benefits are systematically indexed to inflation, unlike pensions. Since 2016, successive governments have conducted "zero" reviews of the family allowance, meaning no real increases have been made. As a result, the poorest families receive only marginally more than the wealthiest, and the system fails to reduce inequality.
