US strikes Iran after attacks on three ships in the Strait of Hormuz

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) launched a series of strikes against Iran in retaliation for attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz within the previous 24 hours. Iranian state media IRIB reported 13 explosions in southern Iran — six near Qeshm and seven near Tahrovi in Sirik County. CENTCOM described Iran's actions as "unwarranted, dangerous, and a clear violation of the ceasefire." The strikes followed the U.S. Treasury Department revoking a general license authorizing the sale of Iranian oil.
