Oil prices surge after US strikes Iran over Strait of Hormuz attacks

Oil prices surged sharply after the US launched strikes against Iran in retaliation for attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Crude had already gained nearly 3% on Tuesday before the military operation triggered a further jump. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical oil transit routes.
