US sailor killed in Arabian Sea emergency landing promoted posthumously

The US Navy has identified a sailor who died following an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea. Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao directed that the sailor, Edwards, be posthumously promoted to captain — the rank he had previously been selected for. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
