US Supreme Court allows Texas to enforce app store age-verification law
The US Supreme Court declined to block Texas's App Store Accountability Act, which requires age verification, allowing the state to enforce it while litigation continues. A federal judge had blocked the law in December 2025, ruling it likely violates the First Amendment, but the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals lifted that injunction on June 4. Big Tech lobby groups and student advocates asked the Supreme Court to reinstate the block, and the court refused.
