US restores Iran oil sanctions, allowing purchases until July 17

The US Treasury Department has revoked a licence that had suspended sanctions on Iranian oil sales. Buyers may still purchase Iranian crude until July 17, provided payments are deposited into a US-controlled account. The move effectively ends the sanctions relief period that had been in place under the previous waiver.
