Euclid Space Telescope finds 31 new ancient quasars, including the oldest ever known

The Euclid Space Telescope, just 1.5 years into its Euclid Wide Survey, has discovered 31 new quasars dating from the Universe's first 800 million years, including the most ancient quasar ever found. The survey was not specifically designed to find quasars but has proven remarkably effective at it. This large sample will advance research into early galaxies and supermassive black holes.
