Oil prices rise after tanker strike near the Strait of Hormuz
Oil prices edged higher after attacks on shipping near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global waterway. The LNG tanker Al Rekayyat was struck by a projectile off the Omani coast as it exited the strait; Axios reported two vessels were hit and damaged. Brent crude traded near $73 a barrel, and the world's largest shipping trade group warned that transits through Hormuz could decline following the incidents.
