Italian village Varenna fines tourists up to €200 for going shirtless or in swimwear
Varenna, a fishing village on Lake Como with a year-round population of around 650, has banned tourists from wandering the streets shirtless or in swimwear. Fines of up to €200 (£171) can now be issued for violations. Authorities introduced the rules to preserve the village's appearance and protect residents from overtourism.
