Liz Meriwether to write Britney Spears biopic for Universal

Universal Pictures has hired Liz Meriwether, writer of "Dying for Sex," to pen the screenplay for a Britney Spears biopic. "Wicked" director Jon M. Chu will helm the film, with producer Marc Platt also on board — reuniting the same team behind "Wicked." No release date has been announced.
