PO and PiS united in EU Parliament: No EU funds for units named after war criminals

MEPs Andrzej Halicki (Civic Platform) and Michał Dworczyk (Law and Justice) joined forces in the European Parliament on Tuesday, insisting Ukraine must uphold European values to join the EU. Halicki said this means Ukraine cannot glorify those responsible for genocidal acts. Dworczyk called on Ukraine to condemn the ideology of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). The rare cross-party alignment underlines the sensitivity of historical memory in Polish-Ukrainian relations.
