US East Coast heatwave forces Bitcoin miners to cut operations

A record heatwave in the eastern United States prompted the US Department of Energy to issue an order that indirectly impacted Bitcoin miners. As a result, the Bitcoin network's hashrate has seen a modest recent decline. Mining operations are not critically threatened, but the extreme heat is making them harder to sustain.
