Disney and DreamWorks animated films score nearly $72 million in California tax credits
California has awarded nearly $72 million in tax credits to animated productions, headlined by DreamWorks' "Donkey," Disney's "Hexed," and an untitled Pixar film. The grants follow an expansion of California's tax credit programme to include animation as an eligible production category. The subsidies are designed to keep studio work in the state rather than abroad.
