EU backs new air passenger rights: free rebooking and 3-hour delay compensation

The European Parliament approved new air passenger rights rules on Tuesday after 13 years of negotiations with EU member states. The reform maintains the right to compensation for flights delayed by at least three hours and makes it easier for passengers to claim payouts. Airlines will also be required to offer free ticket corrections to passengers.
