Criterion marks 30th anniversary as a Battlefield studio, leaving Burnout behind

Criterion Games, the Guildford-based studio famous for Burnout and Need for Speed, is celebrating its 30th anniversary under a new identity — "Criterion: a Battlefield Studio" — signalling a definitive break with its racing-game past. VP & GM Rebecka Coutaz confirmed the studio is solely focused on Battlefield, having contributed to entries including Battlefield 1, 5, 2042 and the upcoming Battlefield 6. The studio has been collaborating with EA on the franchise since 2016.
