Sian Heder's "Being Heumann" to open TIFF 2026

Sian Heder's activist drama "Being Heumann," starring Ruth Madeley as disability rights advocate Judith Heumann, will open the 51st Toronto International Film Festival on September 10 at Roy Thomson Hall. The film marks Heder's follow-up to her acclaimed 2021 drama "CODA," which became a sensation at Sundance. Cynthia Erivo's "Prima Facie" will also have its world premiere at TIFF 2026.
