Le Pen cleared for 2027 run but with electronic tag – National Rally faces decision

A French appeal court has reduced Marine Le Pen's ban from public office to 15 months, theoretically allowing her to run in the 2027 presidential election. However, Le Pen has stated she would not run while wearing an electronic tag, a condition of the ruling. Her party, National Rally, must now decide whether to field Le Pen or her 30-year-old protégé Jordan Bardella as its presidential candidate.
