Paraguayan senator calls Mbappé "colonised Cameroonian" — Macron and FFF respond

Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla sparked an international row after the Paraguay–France match at the 2026 World Cup by calling Kylian Mbappé a "colonised Cameroonian pretending to be French". The Paraguayan government distanced itself from her remarks, while the French Football Federation announced legal action. Mbappé vowed not to let people like Amarilla spread racism, and President Emmanuel Macron also publicly defended the player.
