EU refuses to suspend biometric border controls despite chaos at 20 airports
The EU has rejected calls from airports and airlines to suspend the new Entry/Exit System (EES) of fingerprinting and facial recognition at borders. With the peak summer holiday season a week away, EU officials admit there are "20 difficult spots" causing queue chaos and that the system is "not perfect", but insist a full suspension is "not needed" and "not possible".
