Polish doctors warn of autumn paralysis as hospitals exhaust 2026 surgery quotas
Some Polish hospitals have already used up their National Health Fund (NFZ) quotas for elective procedures planned for 2026. The Supreme Medical Council warns that without quick government action, patients could be told this autumn that their surgery is postponed to next year. Doctors are describing the situation as an expected "paralysis" of the system.
