NATO to Acquire Up to 5 Northrop Grumman Triton Drones for Maritime Surveillance

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte announced at the Defence Industry Forum in Ankara that the alliance will purchase up to five MQ-4C Triton high-altitude, long-endurance UAVs built by Northrop Grumman. The drones are designed for maritime surveillance over vast sea areas, including the High North. Rutte said they will help detect threats early and protect sea lines of communication more efficiently than most conventional aircraft.
