FCC proposes letting ISPs bundle hidden fees into a single vague charge
The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has proposed new rules that would allow internet service providers to bundle multiple passthrough fees into a single "up to" charge, rather than itemising them individually. Current rules require ISPs to break down all fees on broadband labels so consumers know exactly what they pay. The new rules would also drop the requirement for machine-readable broadband labels and let ISPs link to them rather than display them on ordering pages.
