New Constitutional Tribunal judge waiting since June 11 for oath – Nawrocki stalls
Prof. Sławomir Patyra, elected as a judge of Poland's Constitutional Tribunal, has been waiting since June 11 for President Karol Nawrocki to invite him to take the oath of office. The president's aides, who initially indicated the oath would be administered, have now raised objections against him. Patyra says the situation reminds him of the "monstrous times of communist Poland", with former PiS-era prosecutor general Dariusz Barski appearing in the background of the dispute.
