NSW top prosecutor Sally Dowling gave false evidence on media leak, inquiry finds
A NSW upper house parliamentary committee found 4-3 that Director of Public Prosecutions Sally Dowling authorised pitching a story about a young Indigenous offender's sentencing hearing to radio station 2GB, and then falsely denied doing so under oath. The committee recommended the attorney general investigate whether grounds exist to remove her from office. Dowling acknowledges her office pitched the story but says she did not personally authorise it.
