Poland's 2025 Presidential Campaign Fuelled Rise in Anti-Ukrainian Sentiment
A study by the Institute of Political Critique found that nearly all Ukrainian respondents living in Poland had experienced anti-Ukrainian harassment in public — ranging from comments about their accent to verbal threats. Respondents identified the 2025 presidential campaign as the turning point in the surge of hostility. IPN historian Piotr Gontarczyk criticised politicians and commentators for stoking anti-Ukrainian sentiment.
