Android Auto v17.2 update causes crashes and disconnections for some drivers

The latest Android Auto update, version v17.2, is causing errors, app disconnections on startup and crashes during navigation and media use for some drivers. The issue mainly affects users in the beta programme, but problems have also been reported in the stable release. Google has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
