Falling birth rates in Finland linked to declining religiosity, study finds
Researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research analysed Finnish demographic data and found that growing secularisation is linked to declining birth rates. The less religious a population, the fewer children are born. The findings suggest religion plays a significant role as a factor encouraging higher fertility.
