NATO summit in Turkey: Can Europe step up as Trump pulls back?
NATO leaders are meeting in Ankara, Turkey, to discuss a new model for the alliance in which Europe takes a greater role as the US under President Donald Trump pushes to reduce its commitments. Secretary General Mark Rutte called on all allies to present "clear, concrete and credible plans" to meet the 5% GDP defence spending target. The summit comes after months of transatlantic tensions over Iran, Greenland and burden-sharing.
