Polish tax office seized 137,000 PLN for unpaid TV and radio licence fees

Poland's Ministry of Finance revealed that in 2024 the tax office seized 137,000 PLN from a single debtor for unpaid TV and radio licence fees. The licence fee is collected by Polish Post, with the tax authorities stepping in to enforce repayment of accumulated debts. The largest debts build up over many years as owners of televisions and radios avoid paying the mandatory fee.
